I just wanted to let you and everybody else know I how much I learned and improved from your PT at Pocono ---- probably more than ever. The changes were subtle however the results, are huge. I was constantly trying to hang off more than I needed to--- getting my body, head, neck in to a knot with pains and bad vision --- just correcting my position, not only gave me comfort now, I m able to ride all day with no cramps, knots, in perfect comfort and go much faster because of the improved position and planned, confident braking.
The morning started in a semi-panic state when I realized I did not have the keys for my SV 650. I ended up renting R6 from TP. I now have to do a PT with Glen and my buddy June ( blue group rider has probably done 50 track days this year )--- I would have preferred to have my own moto however I decided not to let anything bother me go a head and enjoy the ride. I figured I was lucky to find a moto to rent, so enjoy.
We then went to Glen’s trailer his opening statement was --- "Mental approach to this sport is important so, no distractions when you are here" I then, knew I was on the right track.
I enjoyed and benefited the classroom sessions in the trailer realized how important the "mental approach", positive thinking is "When a part of the track does not look good riders avoid it, I want to go there, find out, know, the traction, the bump, (obviously at a slower comfortable speed) do not leave any stone unturned, know everything ! When you know you will figure out how to tackle it and not shy away from it, or find out the hard way. Trust your instincts, trust your bike, tires, trust me your instructor!"
We were working as a team riding thru every group from Art Basic to Blue practicing different drills, lines, moving quickly thru groups. I m on a bike I have never been on yet after 2 laps I m loving it. Thru trust and confidence I learned more that day than ever. I ended up buying a CBR (very similar to r6), can ride much better, faster safer than before.
Thank you Glen,

Hello Glen,
Thank you for an excellent PT experience. The training was a tremendous for me overall, taking my riding to a new level with all that I’ve learned. So I wanted to follow up with you on what I have learned and experienced over the 3 days we rode together.
My goal originally was to send this to you prior to getting back on the track after the rainy weekend. However, work came first and I was not able to send this prior to my next time on the track. So I have a brief outline on the dates we rode together and then I combined my PT notes and handouts at the end of this letter.
5-10, 5-11
I thought it best to follow up with you before my next track day, to let you know where I’m at mentally, what I did learn even with a rainy weekend and my slide on the pavement. We talked quite a bit in the morning, covering braking, body position, track lines, passing, goals, learning in a positive manner, rewarding yourself when you do something correctly, learning from mistakes, and more.
I am a bit apprehensive about my upcoming track day, but I believe I’m ready. I’ve basically gone through a strange cycle mentally, since sliding across the track. That day I was, and to some extent still aggravated with myself. But I understand what I did and why it happened, which means I can learn from it and improve.
6-22
More people in the class, which is good for me, it allowed me to observe more, and listen intently. Being part of the PT class room orientation again allowed me to fill in some areas I did not fully absorb the last time and add clarity.
Well time for the track, and yes I am apprehensive about being back on the track after sliding across it testing my leathers. My body position is off, braking is off, turns are terrible; maybe I should get off and walk, no! It’s still early and we have the whole day ahead of us, and hey I’m at least on the track, stay positive.
Well the afternoon is here, and the weather is near perfect, and I am feeling better about my riding. Each time we go out, I know I am improving, some areas better than I was prior to testing my leathers, this is a good thing! The last few sessions were tremendous. The bike is feeling better; I am more in tune to what is going on around me, great! the fun is now back into my riding and almost everything has improved, so now I can’t wait to get back on the track. It was a great day!
Sincerely,
- Walt
Hey Glen, thanks for all the help at VIR. Your class made me a BETTER RIDER! I was doing so many things wrong and with your help I became a safer and fast rider. The thing that amazed me the most was that you really cared about me. The one on one help was the best i ever had. I owe you Glen, thank you so much. I will be taking your class again. What would it cost me to have you fore a full track day? I have so much that I would like to ask you about riding, the bike, ect. I will try to remember about the lean angle, drag races, satey, attacking the track, bike is alive! Don't let people ride your bike ect. The thing that sets tpm apart from all the others is that you and your coaches care!!!!!!!!!!!!! cbr Bob, Kenny, Dominic, and Ralph. I would like to tell you what Dave Galloway did for me. I rode with Dave 3 weeks ago at Summit he did not even know my name. I posted a commint on the message board. He saw the commint and and asked how my ridding was doing. 3 week later and this guy is looking out for me and he did not even know my name. That's what sets tpm apart from the other clubs.
- Thanks Brian
